I’ve been thinking of the future of this newsletter and what direction I want to take it moving forward.

With few exceptions, I’ve been publishing articles for this newsletter every week since October 2022.

And I have to be honest, I’ve been seriously considering taking a break from publishing.

Why?

Well, some weeks it’s extremely easy to come up with a topic to write about.

Other weeks, it’s been a bit more challenging.

And I believe that if it’s a challenge for me to come up with a topic to write about, it may not be worth your time.

And that’s the last thing I want.

It shouldn’t be a challenge for you to read.

I started this newsletter writing about personal finance, but it’s evolved into sharing what I am passionate about: spending less time in an office and more time exploring this beautiful world of ours.

And it all comes down to one particular reader: my past self.

That guy sitting in his office for 60+ hours per week, staring out the window, wishing he were anywhere else.

I want this newsletter to be the newsletter my past self can’t wait to open as soon as it hits his inbox.

And he won’t open it if I’m not bringing my best.

If I’m going to keep doing this, it has to matter.

I refuse to let this become something I publish just to publish.

So, I’ve been thinking: what can I do to make this newsletter a bit easier to write but, more importantly, valuable enough for you to invest your time to read?

One idea I’ve been toying with is experimenting with the format.

There are two newsletters (out of a few) I subscribe to and read. One I’ve been reading for years. The other is a newsletter I recently discovered.

What keeps me coming back to both is their format.

So, I am going to see if I can develop a new format for the articles of this newsletter. One that will make it easier for me to write. But more importantly, one you’ll not only enjoy, but find worth your time.

Until that time, I leave you with these words:

If there is a destination you’re curious about traveling to anywhere in the world, buy tickets to that destination today.

Tomorrow may be too late.

Quote that caught my attention:

"There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self."

—Ernest Hemingway
