I’m Taking a Short Break
But will be returning to your inbox very soon
Good morning!
I hope this finds you well.
Welcome to another edition of The Matt Viera Newsletter.
The newsletter with the goal to inspire you to stop waiting for “someday.”
Thank you for your continued support.

Since October 1, 2022, I’ve published this newsletter almost every single week.
Over these past three-plus years, I’ve found my voice, established a format that works, and leaned into a topic I’m deeply passionate about: choosing a life of discovery over a life of waiting.
A lifestyle that is one of the driving reasons I quit practicing law.
Since 2016, I’ve remained fully committed to this path, continually seeking new ways to live it out.
And my goal has always been the same: spend less time in an office and more time living a life worth remembering.
By sharing my journey, passion, and lifestyle with you, I hope to inspire you to explore our beautiful world and spend less time in an office.
While this weekly ritual has been immensely rewarding for me (and hopefully for you as well), I’ve reached a point where it makes sense to take a brief step back.
With that in mind, I will be pausing the newsletter until January 6, 2026.
This break serves several purposes, each important to my growth and ability to deliver quality content:
To organize my body of work
I want to build a simple database of everything I’ve written so far and update a few articles that deserve revisiting.
To explore the possibility of an eBook
I plan to review articles, find the most popular ones, and consider turning their insights into a book.
To take a few personal-interest courses
I’ve enrolled in several courses out of sheer curiosity and I want the bandwidth to fully engage with them.
To begin preliminary planning for Mini-Retirement 2026
These experiences don’t plan themselves.
To complete my Continuing Legal Education requirements
My law license renews in February 2026. I still maintain it. You never know.
And finally…
I just need a break.
As simple as these emails may appear on your end, they require consistent creativity, time, and attention.
Coming up with an idea each week. Shaping it into a draft, editing it, refining it, and scheduling it are all part of the process. While rewarding, it’s also demanding.
And I can’t give you my best while simultaneously juggling other meaningful projects.
To continue delivering something worthwhile, I need to step back and reset. Then I can return with the clarity, energy, and passion you deserve and expect.
So until January 6, 2026, I wish you and your family the very best.
Enjoy the holiday season. Have a Happy New Year. And please remember:
Stop waiting for “someday.”
If there’s an experience you’ve been putting off, make time for it.
If there’s a destination you’re curious about, buy the ticket.
If there’s a dream you’ve been saving for later, start now.
Because no one on their deathbed ever said:
“I wish I spent more time in the office.”
See you in January.
Happy Holidays!
Quote that caught my attention:
“Within you, there is a stillness and a sanctuary to which you can retreat at any time and be yourself.”
—Hermann Hesse
